Willie Doherty: Requisite Distance
Private Universes
Dallas Museum of Art

Dallas Art News got a preview of the exhibits to succeed King Tut at the Dallas Museum of Art. They are Willie Doherty: Requisite Distance and Private Universes. Dallas Art News was allowed to preview all the art and talk with artists Willie Doherty and Jim Hodges and curators Maria de Corral and Charles Wylie.

The Dallas Museum of Art is showing a massive amount of art in these two exhibits, Willie Doherty: Requisite Distance and Private Universes. Mr. Doherty’s work, curated by Mr. Wylie, includes a dozen cibachrome on aluminum prints plus a 15 minute video titled Ghost Story, which was recently purchased by the DMA.

The Private Universes exhibit, curated by Ms. de Corral, fills the remainder of the southern most gallery, the barrel vault area and four adjacent galleries. There is a lot of art on hand to see, discuss and experience.

Dallas Art News will be reviewing both exhibits this weekend.
