Susan Rothenberg: Moving In Place
Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth | October 18, 2009 – January 3, 2010
In conjunction with the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum in Santa Fe, the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth will exhibit 25 paintings by Susan Rothenberg. Paintings will include a selection from the mid-1970s to her most recent body of work. The show is organized by Michael Auping, Chief Curator at the Modern and long time acquaintance of the artist.
Susan Rothenberg: Moving In Place will explore the evolution of “frozen motion”, as Ms. Rothenberg refers to it. The exploration will begin with Cabin Fever (1976) and continue on to present day.
The Modern will produce a major book for the exhibit with publisher Prestel. The book will include an introduction by Barbara Buhler Lynes, curator of the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum, and and essay by Michael Auping.
General admission prices for the Modern will include this special exhibit.
