Magnigicent Desolation: The Long Journey Home from the Moon by Buzz Aldrin

From Press Release

Apollo 11 astronaut Buzz Aldrin will give a talk and sign copies of his new memoir, MAGNIFICENT DESOLATION: the Long Journey Home from the Moon.

In MAGNIFICENT DESOLATION: the Long Journey Home from the Moon, written by Buzz Aldrin with Ken Abraham, Aldrin recounts America’s historic initial moon landing – from takeoff to splashdown – and the two decades of profound struggle that followed.

Admission to the lecture is free and open to the public. MAGNIFICENT DESOLATION: the Long Journey Home from the Moon is available for purchase in the MFAH Shop. The public should call 713-639-7360 for retail information.

To mark the 40th anniversary of man’s landing on the moon, the MFAH presents The Moon: “Houston, Tranquility Base Here. The Eagle has Landed,” an exhibition that chronicles man’s enduring fascination over five centuries with our nearest planetary neighbor, opening Sunday, September 27, 2009.

This event will be at 7 p.m. on Friday, July 10, 2009 at the Brown Auditorium Theater, Caroline Wiess Law Building, 1001 Bissonnet.
