From Press Release

Archstone, owners of The Èlan at Bluffview Dallas luxury apartments, announced today that artists Alison Jardine, Jennifer Jones and Wesley Chin from the Dallas area have been selected as finalists for the inspirational work they submitted in the first-annual Èlan Art Contest.

Jardine was selected for her work titled “Trees Squared,” Jones earned finalist distinction with “Venetian Elephant” and Chin rounded out the finalist group with “Love Letter to Joan Mitchell.”

The committee of judges, which includes members of the local Dallas art and business community, reviewed dozens of pieces before selecting the finalists based on the stunning visual interest, thoughtful content and artistic craftsmanship of their submissions. One of the three artists will receive six months of free rent in one of The Èlan at Bluffview’s open retail units for an art gallery to display their work, as well as a $1,000 gift card.

“These extraordinary pieces reflect the incredible talent and inspirational creativity that is expressed through art in the Dallas area each and every day,” said Melanie Flaherty, Archstone’s director of marketing for the West region. “Archstone and The Èlan at Bluffview are proud to honor these remarkably talented artists.”

The committee of judges will review the finalist submissions again and select one winner, which will be unveiled during the “First Annual Èlan Art Gala Preview” on July 31. The event, which is free and open to the public, will be held at the artist’s brand-new art gallery on the property of The Èlan at Bluffivew, 3850 W. Northwest Highway.

Along with the unveiling of the winner, attendees will have an opportunity to view all of the submissions, while enjoying a fine selection of beverages and delectable hors d’oeuvres free of charge.

“We hope this contest and the finalists will continue to inspire young artists in the Bluffview area to further develop their talents and start fulfilling their dreams,” said Dave Brackett, Archstone’s Executive Vice President of Operations. “It’s part of Archstone’s commitment to the communities where it offers luxury apartment homes.”

The first-annual Èlan Art Contest was launched to commemorate the grand opening of Archstone’s newest apartments in Dallas.
