Èlan Art Contest Announces Alison Jardine as Winner

From Press Release

Archstone, owners of The Èlan at Bluffview Dallas luxury apartments, announced Alison Jardine of Dallas as the winner of the first-annual Èlan Art Contest for her work titled “Trees Squared.”

The announcement was made July 31 at the First Annual Art of Èlan Gala, held in celebration of the gallery’s opening at The Èlan at Bluffview, 3850 W. Northwest Highway. The judging committee, composed of local Dallas art and business community members, selected Jardine’s art piece as one of the top three finalists out of dozens of entries. A panel of Archstone representatives then reviewed the finalists and chose Jardine’s work as the winner based on visual interest, content and artistic craftsmanship.

Jardine received six months of free rent in The Art of Èlan gallery to display her work, as well as a $1,000 gift card. Jardine, who moved to Dallas in 2003 from England, studied various art disciplines in college in the U.K. Now calling North Texas home, she continues to study art through courses at Southern Methodist University and has established herself as a full-time, professional artist. She said her art is inspired by nature, and she is committed to running a green studio and maintaining a sustainable lifestyle. She and her family were almost overwhelmed with excitement when Archstone representatives presented her with her prize.

“I plan to use the space as my working art studio,” said Jardine. “I am going to have to start painting a sign for the outside!”

More than 100 people browsed the gallery at the gala event and four artists, including the winner, sold art pieces. Representatives of Archstone and The Èlan at Bluffview said the goals of the art contest and gala were to help rejuvenate the Shops at Bluffview retail space, and to support, inspire and showcase the work of talented Dallas artists.

“Archstone is committed to serving the communities where it offers luxury apartment homes,” said Melanie Flaherty, Archstone’s director of marketing for the West region. “We are very pleased with the outcome of the event, and we would like to thank each of the remarkably talented artists who participated.”

Jardine’s work will be on display at The Art of Èlan gallery from now through February. Her art collections can be viewed online at www.alisonjardine.com. For more information, visit www.theelanatbluffview.com/artofelan.
