2009 5th Annual 12Buy12 Juried Art Show
Presented by Austin Art Space Gallery & Studios
Juried by Mr. Bill Keese
What can you create in a 12” x 12” contained format? We have learned over the past four years: an astounding array of imaginative and original art. This show’s origins were at our previous location — ArtSpoken. Last year we moved into our new retail location and we are excited to announce our 5th Annual 12buy12 show at Austin Art Space.
We have changed the format and entry procedures slightly this year to make the show even more substantial and even more widely viewed. We have a single juror this year: Bill Keese. Mr. Keese is the President of Austin Visual Arts Association, an art scholar and a lifelong patron and promoter of the arts. For judging, artists must enter actual pieces of art (sized 12”x12” or less) rather than “representative” works that could be created in smaller formats later for the show itself. Therefore, the entry deadline has been extended in order to give artists more time to create their work. And, we’ve increased the number of entries to four per artist.
Some things have not changed. Austin Art Space still charges no commissions on sales at the show. The entry fee remains low. And, there is still a separate hanging fee for artwork juried into the show which helps fund the promotion of the show and opening reception which drew nearly 400 people last year. We also nationally promote the show and submit press on your behalf.
Join us for our biggest show of the year!
