The El Paso Museum of Art Offers Free Access for all Active Military Personnel and their Families

The El Paso Museum of Art will participate in a National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) pilot program called Blue Star Museums, which will provide active duty military and their families free access to the Museum, including ticketed exhibitions, between Memorial Day, Friday, May 28, 2010 through Labor Day, Monday, September 6, 2010. Current Military Identification (ID) is required.

The El Paso Museum of Art is one of 330 museums from 45 states nationwide that made this commitment. Michael A. Tomor, Ph.D., Director of the El Paso Museum of art states: “I concur with our colleagues across the country, that this is a wonderful moment in NEA and U.S. museum history, to gather together and actively show our appreciation for active U.S. military personnel and their families”.

Tickets

Active military personnel and their families should visit the Museum Store to receive their free pass stickers to ticketed exhibitions. No tickets are required to view the Museum’s permanent collections. Current Military Identification (ID) is required.

Museum Hours

Monday & Major Holidays: Closed
Tuesday – Saturday: 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Extended Hours Thursday Nights: Until 9:00 p.m.
Sundays: 12:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Parking

Parking is available at the Convention Center and the Camino Real Hotels for a small fee. Limited metered parking is available on Main Street. Free parking is available after 6:00 PM Thursday nights, and all day most Saturdays and Sundays at the City Hall parking lot on Santa Fe Street.
