Café Modern Renovation Plans Announced Beginning August 2010
Posted Tuesday, June 1, 2010
Marla Price, director of the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, and Bon Appétit Management Company announce renovation plans for Café Modern. Café Modern, managed by Bon Appétit and recognized as “One of America’s best restaurants” by Gourmet Magazine, is located in the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth.
Café Modern will be closed during the remodeling, which is scheduled to begin August 16, 2010, and will reopen at the end of September 2010, when the project is complete.
Renovation plans include a new cocktail bar, improved acoustics throughout the café area, and an updated sound system. Accompanying the new space will be the addition of a martini and cocktail menu, extended dinner hours, as well as new items on the café’s seasonal menu.
The team overseeing the project includes the architecture firm Kendall/Heaton Associates, Inc. of Houston; CHP and Associates, Inc., a consulting engineering firm, also in Houston; and Thos. S. Byrne, Ltd., a construction firm based in Fort Worth. Peter Edward Arendt AIA, the Museum owner’s representative, continues to serve as Director of Design and Construction.
