Mr. Holga, our walkabout photographer, visited the Tibetan Buddhist Monks at the Crow Collection of Asian Art on Wednesday, October 6, 2010. The monks are creating a mandala sand painting out of millions of grains of colored, crushed marble, which is lovingly laid into place in the tradition of this ancient spiritual art form.
It’s not too late
There is still time to see the monks and the beautiful mandala. The sand painting is on view at the Crow Collection until Saturday, October 9, when the monks dismantle it between 1 to 3 p.m.
