About the Artist
Linda Hains was born in 1958 and lives and works in El Paso, Texas. Her works describe movement, actions, emotion and sensations, mentally and visually. Because being physically involved with the work is important to the artist she often uses her body as a template to contain her mark-making. Evoking sensations of movement of the human form in space is a primary objective that the artist endeavors to portray with form, color and pattern. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in sculpture from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Master of Arts in Art Education from the University of Texas at El Paso. The artist has exhibited in group and solo exhibitions throughout the United States and in Tokyo, Japan.
