The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, Announces Committee to Search for New Director

Cornelia Long, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, has announced the formation of a search committee to identify candidates and select a new director. The search committee is chaired by Mr. Richard D. Kinder, a life trustee of the MFAH, and includes Mr. Brad Bucher; Mrs. Charles W. (Anne) Duncan, Jr.; Mrs. Meredith J. (Cornelia) Long; Mr. William N. Mathis; and Mr. Michael S. Zilkha.

The museum’s former director, Dr. Peter C. Marzio, died in December 2010.

Founded in 1900, the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, is among the ten largest art museums in the United States. Located in the heart of Houston’s Museum District, the MFAH comprises two gallery buildings, a sculpture garden, library, theater, two art schools, and two house museums.The encyclopedic collection of the MFAH has some 63,000 works and embraces the art of antiquity to the present.
