University of North Texas Communication Design Students Reap Awards

Students in the communication design program in the University of North Texas College of Visual Arts and Design have earned $13,500 in scholarships and awards at several recent competitions — the Dallas Society of Visual Communications (DSVC) National Student Show, the Fort Worth Addys, the Dallas Addys and the Creative Summit awards.

“These awards speak volumes about the quality of our students and their work,” said Eric Ligon, associate professor of communication design, who earned a Golden Apple award for outstanding teaching in the DSVC National Student Show. “We send our congratulations to these students and the professors who guided them.”

Dallas Society of Visual Communications

UNT students took home 15 of the 31 awards given at the Dallas Society of Visual Communications 7th Annual National Student Show on April 2, resulting in UNT students earning $7,875 in awards and scholarships at the show.

UNT students brought home $5,625 in awards (including $25 prizes for pieces selected for the show) at the Creative Summit competition, a highly respected student competition and conference that is attended by students and professionals from across the country.
