In honor of Veterans Day, The Young El Paso Singers under the direction of Cindy Jay will give a rousing salute by performing songs and dramatic readings highlighting the history of the sacrifice and commitment to duty of our veterans from the various armed forces. This performance will take place on Saturday, November 12, 2011, in the lobby of the El Paso Museum of History at 4:00 p.m. The performance is free and open to all, especially to veterans, currently serving armed forces personnel, and their families.
The program is presented by the Young Elite Singers, an advanced group of Director selected performers from the Young El Paso Singers. The singers and Director Dr. Cindy Jay will be accompanied on piano by Ruben Gutierrez.
Young El Paso Singers just completed its inaugural season which included the following performances and offerings: Debut Concert, Music Marathon , ”Concert for Unity”, Peace of Art Exhibit Opening, Border AIDS Project, Candlelighters Christmas party, Hands of Hope Across the Border at Chamizal, El Paso Museum of History, Texas Veteran’s Home, La Tierra Café Easter Concert, Sacred Concert for S.D.A. on McRae, Summer Vocal Camp “Rockin’ El Paso”, Elvis El Paso Fundraiser Event and December’s “Star in the Desert”. WOW!! That’s just the first fourteen months! Congratulations! Just say Y.E.S.!!
