Saturday and Sunday, February 11 -12, 2012 (Closing Weekend)
The Shoe Confessional is a booth where women are free to share their stories and divulge their shoe secrets.
The project is about empowering women and creating communities. A team of talented architects, artists and craftspeople is collaborating to design and build the Confessional. The team includes: Architect Jen Mauldin from Wilson Associates, Audio Specialist David Friedman from WaveMaker Audio, Community Outreach Director Valen Chavez, Steve Shipp, Misti Chambers, Rondi Hillstrom Davis, Alyx Martinez and Phil Allen of Allen Media. Special Thanks to Cencor Realty Services for donating workspace in the Knox Street area.
The Sole Sisters project is developing a global-based audience before filming by collecting stories from women and girls through social media and community partnerships. The filmmakers have been to prison, schools, and social service organizations senior centers conducting art and writing workshops around women’s identity through their shoes.
