Last week, the Dallas Museum of Art (DMA) announced the launch of a new website, Dallas Museum of Art Dashboard. Dashboard is a collection of real time stats about the museum. Dashboard is the museum’s way of sharing information that might elicit more public interest in the institution.
The Arts and Music Guild has been invited to assist the City of McKinney in building the Public Art Collection by co-coordinating with the McKinney Performing Arts Center a new juried art show. Unique by Nature is the theme of this new art competition. Sponsors include citizen leaders dedicated to the growth of the arts in McKinney.

Entrance to the Museum and this exhibition are free to the public. Occasionally the Museum features traveling exhibitions for which admission is charged such as Magnificent México: 20th Century Modern Masterworks which is currently on view with an admission fee of $10 per non member adult age 13 and up and $5 per EPMA member adult age 13 and up. Playwright and performer Will Power has been named to a new position as Artist-in-Residence in the Division of Theatre at Southern Methodist University’s Meadows School of the Arts, beginning with the fall 2012 semester.
The Lawndale Artist Studio Program is part of Lawndale’s ongoing commitment to support the creation of contemporary art by Gulf Coast area artists.
