As you may know, I’ve been attending a printmaking class as part of SMU Meadows School of the Arts Informal Courses for Adults program. I’ve been doing it now for a few years and have enjoyed every minute of it. The printmaking class is led by artist Peter Ligon and meets for eight Wednesday evenings in the printmaking studio. Printmaking is dirty work but we all seem to have a lot of fun doing it (see Addition Reading below).
I though you might enjoy seeing some of our work from this term. In the class we do dry point, etching, aqua tint, chine-collé, and any combination of them all. Artists in the class include Bernadette Depta (the Grand Dame of Chine-collé), Evy Pitcher, Jessica Sinks, John Slavich, Nathan Beach, Rives Skotnicki, Nelson Spencer and myself.
