Museums and Cultural Affairs Department Launches Competitive Funding Program for Downtown Events

The City of El Paso Museums and Cultural Affairs Department (MCAD) has released the guidelines and applications for its 2012-2015 KickstArt Downtown  Funding Program online at the Downtown Arts District website;, view “opportunities” to read KickstArt Downtown guidelines and to submit an online application.

About KickstArt Downtown

The competitive funding program provides support for recurring arts and sporting events in El Paso’s Downtown Arts District, with a focus on promoting tourism.  The program has been developed to nurture the continuing revitalization of downtown El Paso and support the Downtown Arts District.

Non-profit organizations, for profit entities and individuals are all eligible to apply.  Applications for events taking place September 1, 2012 – August, 31, 2013 in eligible areas of downtown will be due on June 25, 2012, no later than 6:00 p.m., delivered to the Museums and Cultural Affairs Department located in City Hall.

Applicants should plan on attending a workshop covering guidelines and process from 6-7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 30, 2012 in the 2nd floor Conference Room of City Hall.
