Marshall-McPhail Gallery is holding an Artist Reception and Show for Vicki Sowell Smith, a Dallas-based artist on Saturday, August 4, 2012 from 2 to 6 p.m. at Marshall Motors.

Vicki Sowell Smith is a native Dallasite and has been painting for over 30 years. She has studied with Sue Alston, watercolorist, Suzanne Kelly Clark, SMU teacher (plein air painting) and took her first oil classes with Bob Bates. She is now working with Chris Middlebrook Wyatt.  Always looking for and finding an unusual approach, her paintings show a flair for fun and color… especially the neon zebras!

Smith is a featured artist in the 2012 edition of CityArtCal Fine Art in Dallas and exhibited in the Garden Gallery from March 9-25, 2012. Her paintings grace private collections in Canada, Georgia, South Carolina, Louisiana, New York, California, Washington, Virginia, New Jersey, Oklahoma, Colorado and Texas.

The public is invited.

About Marshall Motors

Marshall Motors is no ordinary automotive service facility. When you walk into the lobby you will notice it does not look like a repair shop, it looks more like an art gallery. That is because January is an art collector and is proud to showcase local artists in the reception area. All the art that you see when you walk in is available for purchase. They even host a wine and cheese reception for each artist that is featured.  For more information go to
