The McKinney Avenue Contemporary is Looking for a Few Good Volunteers

The McKinney Avenue Contemporary (The MAC) announces the 2012 annual Membership Exhibition theme: Trans-. The MAC Staff and Board of Directors requests MAC members to submit works of art in all media from visual to performance art and literary reading relating to the theme Trans-.

The Annual Membership Exhibition is one of the cornerstones of the spirit and mission of The MAC – providing a place for creative expression and vigorous dialogue between artists and patrons of the arts. The Annual Membership Exhibition celebrates emerging and established artistic talent in Dallas and surrounding areas. Each year a theme for the exhibition is selected by The MAC staff and Board of Directors. Previous themes include: Meltdown, Border, XV, and Gastronomia: erĂ³tica y estimulante.

Volunteer duties include:

  • Setting up for the event during the week
  • Membership table
  • Gallery watching
  • Assistance with the food & drink stations (!!!)
  • Helping out at the front door
  • Clean up

Limited volunteer positions available.

Volunteers must contribute at least two hours to be eligible for a MAC membership.

Established in 1994, The McKinney Avenue Contemporary (The MAC) is a nonprofit organization that stands as a Dallas advocate for creative freedom offering the opportunity for experimentation and presentation of art in all disciplines.
