Bring Andy Warhol to Houston, TX

Contemporary Arts Museum Houston (CAMH) needs your help. They want to bring Andy Warhol to Houston. They don’t want his bones, but they do want the next best thing: Rob Pruitt’s The Andy Monument.

Pruitt’s The Andy Monument was organized by Public Art Fund. The sculpture was originally on view in Union Square, New York (March 30, 2011 through September 4, 2012). CAMH would like to display The Andy Monument on their front lawn at the corner of Montrose and Bissonnet in Houston’s Museum District.

CAMH needs your help to make this happen. CAMH has launched a crowd-funded campaign through indiegogo.com. Indie gogo is a site that allows users to raise money for a cause. Site users can create their own Indie gogo campaign or contribute to an existing campaign.

CAMH estimates the total cost to bring The Andy Monument to Houston at about $32,000. This includes loan fee, crating, delivery, return shipping, installation, care and maintenance, and insurance.

There are several contribution levels for CAMH patrons ranging from $10 to $10,000. For $10 contributors will receive a heart-felt thank-you from CAMH. At $30 and above there are perks for larger contributions. Check out the site for more details.

Simply put, CAMH would like your support to bring The Andy Monument to Houston. Click here to contribute to the Bring Andy Warhol to Houston, TX campaign.
