For several years curator Benito Huerta has been planning to feature Texas artists who use drawing as their primary artistic process. The idea of the immediacy and simplicity of the materials to express complex and widely divergent ideas intrigued him, as did the desire β€œto see what was going on around the state with artists who are known for drawing.” The resulting exhibition showcases work that is widely varied in scale and style – from intimate to epic in size, and from representational to surreal in content – that provides a small sampling of the current state of drawing in the state of Texas.

The exhibit and all events are free and open to the public.

Gallery hours are 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and noon until 5 pm on Saturday. The Gallery is located in the Fine Art Building, room 169, at 502 S. Cooper Street, Arlington, TX.

For more information contact Benito Huerta or Patricia Healy (817) 272-5658 or www.uta.edu/gallery.

The 2012-2013 exhibition schedule is made possible by the generous support of Arlington Camera, the Hanley Foundation, Hilton Arlington, and Nerwin & Martin Fine Art Services.
