The Kimbell Art Museum announced a free, special lecture by ARTnews editor and publisher Milton Esterow. Mr. Esterow will present How to Look at Art without Feeling Inferior on Friday, September 21, 2012, at 6 p.m. in the museum’s auditorium. No reservations are required.
Esterow will discuss the international art scene, art market, art journalism, art criticism, and the changing tastes in art and fashion. The 40th anniversary of the Kimbell Art Museum also marks Esterow’s 40th anniversary at ARTnews. Esterow first covered the opening of the Kimbell on October 4, 1972.
ARTnews became the first consistently published magazine to consistently apply high standards of investigative reporting to the art world. The publication has won numerous journalism awards since the mid-1970s. In 2003, Esterow was presented a special award for lifetime achievement from the College of Art Association.
Esterow was also a reporter for The New York Times. He regularly lectures in the United States and abroad. Esterow is the author of The Art Stealers.
