City of Dallas to Host a Public Forum with Artspace, September 27

The City of Dallas has invited Artspace Projects, Inc. to conduct a pre-feasibility study for artists housing needs in the community. Artspace is a leading nonprofit developer of affordable spaces for artists. Dallas would like participation in the study so that it reflects the interests and needs of the local creative community.

Artspace is based in Minneapolis. They work nationally. Artspace’s mission is to create, foster, and preserve affordable space for artists and arts organizations. Artspace does this through development projects, asset management activities, consulting services, and community-building activities.

Artspace will conduct a pre-feasibility study which will provide Dallas with preliminary feedback about the possibility of creating a live / work, multi-use or other arts facility development.

Artists and creative workers are encouraged to be a part of this project.

The City of Dallas Office of Cultural Affairs (OCA) will host a public forum with Artspace at the Dallas City Performance Hall located at 2520 Flora Street, Dallas, Texas. The forum will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, September 27, 2012.
