The McKinney Avenue Contemporary (The MAC) will screen Roger Winter and the line, a film directed by Quin Mathews. The screening will be from 7 – 8 p.m. on Wednesday, September 26, 2012.
The MAC will host MAC PAC (Professionals and Artists Collective) members at 6 p.m. before the screening. There will be a wine reception and discussion with the director prior to the screening. Mathews will speak about his documentary at 6:15 p.m.
Roger Winter is an artist and teacher. Winter taught at Southern Methodist University (SMU) for 26 years. During his tenure he mentored some great Dallas artists: John Alexander, David Bates, Brian Cobble and Lilian Garcia-Roig. The film visits Winter in his studios in New York and Santa Fe. Winter reflects on his art and that of his protégés.
The screening is in conjunction with The MAC’s current exhibits, Lost Highway – A Painter’s Journey and Under the Influence. These exhibits show works by Winter, Alexander, Bates, Cobble, Rizzie and Garcia-Roig. The exhibits run through October 20, 2012.
