Anna Palmer: A Natural State of Affair
Texas Discovery Gardens
September 22 through December 31, 2012

The Texas Discovery Gardens, located at Fair Park, announced a new exhibit by photographer Anna Palmer. The exhibit, A Natural State of Affair, opens Saturday, September 22, 2012. An opening reception will be held the same day from 6 to 8 p.m. Free admission to those attending the reception.

Anna Palmer always sees an abundance of nature around Dallas. She captures moments, both large and small, with her camera. Palmer’s photographs sometimes focus on often overlooked details like a green fly on an orange or water droplets on a window.

Artist Statement

Photography is the medium I use to show how I view my world, and nature provides my favorite canvas. The interplay of light and shadow, color and composition in a single moment appeals to my sense of urgency to capture and share it.  Most of the time I am not actively looking for the subject, it just appears and I shoot.

I have participated in exhibitions at The Point at CC Young, McKinney Avenue Contemporary, the Bath House Cultural Center, the Downtown Public Library, the 14th Street Gallery, Northlake College, and 500X.
