The Dallas Auction Gallery will be offering items from the family of Mimi and Herman W. Lay, founder of H.W. Lay & Company, and from the collection of Mr. and Mrs. I.C. Deal. There will also be estate property from New Orleans, Louisiana and the gallery’s southern region in their Modern & Contemporary Art Auction on Wednesday, October 24, 2012. (See Gallery)

The auction will feature modern, contemporary and Latin American art. Artists include Bernard Buffet, Jean Dufy, Pablo Picasso, Henry Moore, Gerhard Richter, Leon Golub, Carlos Cruz-Diez, Armando Morales, Diego Rivera, Leonora Carrington, Gunther Gerzso, Arturo Michelena, Antonio Asis, Li Chen, Lui Liu, Anton van Wouw, Eve Arnold, Lawrence Schiller and Philippe Halsman.

Dallas Auction Gallery also announced the appointment of Michelle Castro as Director of Fine Arts. Ms. Castro has extensive gallery and auction house experience in New Orleans. She has built a strong reputation in the art market. Ms. Castro’s careful eye and discretion are valued by private collectors, art institutions and estate representatives.
