Dallas Art News walkabout art reporter Claire Troy and I were on hand for the press preview of Posters of Paris: Toulouse-Lautrec & His Contemporaries at the Dallas Museum of Art (DMA) this past Thursday. Taking time out of my day gig to see a bunch of posters is not usually high on my priority list, but in this case I’m glad I made an exceptions. These are really wonderful posters and there is a lot to see. (See Preview Gallery)

I showed up at the review a few minutes early. I got to meet Claire Troy for the first time in person. We browsed a few rooms of posters before the preview was officially started. DMA president John Eagle started the preview followed up by DMA deputy director Robert Stein. The preview tour was led by curator Dr. Heather McDonald.

Claire Troy will be writing the actual review. I can’t wait to read what she thought of the exhibit.

Posters of Paris: Toulouse-Lautrec & His Contemporaries opens today at the DMA. I think there is a little something for everyone.

If you were following Dallas Art News on Facebook or Twitter, then you would have seen some of these images as they press preview happened. We were most likely the only press organization capturing this moment as it happened. Cheers.
