Russell Tether Fine Art has been selected to present for sale the collection of the Plemons Family Trust, a non-profit trust benefiting autism, education and cancer. The collection includes more than ninety works by artists who worked in Texas at the beginning of the twentieth century. The McKinney Avenue Contemporary will host the sale beginning at 6 p.m. on Friday, October 26. The sale will continue through 6 p.m. on Sunday, October 28, 2012.

A reception will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, October 26. The collection can be viewed between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. on both Saturday, October 27 and Sunday, October 28.

Acquired over a period of three and a half decades, the collection is a survey of works by American and international artists who had a significant impact on early 20th century art in Texas. Many of the artists included in the collection trained at prestigious institutions in the United States and Europe and studied with undisputed masters like William Merritt Chase, Jules-Joseph Lefebvre, Benjamin Constant, and Howard Pyle.

The items in the collection, many of which have been held by museums and displayed in regional and national exhibitions, will be available for sale over the course of the three day event.

Russell Tether Fine Art is a Dallas based Fine Art brokerage and consulting firm specializing in the secondary art market.
