Visitors still have time to see The Wyeths Across Texas before it closes at the Tyler Museum of Art (TMA) on December 9, 2012. This exciting exhibition provides a rare opportunity to experience works by America’s most famous family of 20th century artists.

Organized by the TMA, The Wyeths Across Texas features works by N.C., Andrew and Jamie Wyeth from public and private Texas collections. It is the first exhibition in Texas in 25 years to feature works by all three generations of Wyeths.

An exhibition catalog published by the TMA to commemorate this exhibition is available for purchase at the Museum Gift Shop. The accompanying catalog includes an introduction by Victoria Browning Wyeth as well as an essay and other entries by art historian Henry Adams.

On December 7, the TMA will start its final First Friday Tour of the year at 11:00 a.m. With admission, visitors will enjoy a free, guided tour through the exhibition. Visitors will gain a deeper understanding of the Wyeth family and their works of art. Reservations for the tour are appreciated but not required.

Family Day will take place from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. in the TMA Classroom on December 8. Free art activities inspired by the Wyeths will be provided and allow visitors to relate artistically to the exhibition. Light refreshments will also be served.

Admission for the exhibition is $10 for adults, $7 for students and seniors, and $5 for children. Admission is free for all TMA Members and children ages 5 and under. The Wyeths Across Texas will be on view through December 9 at the Tyler Museum of Art. After its closing in Tyler, the exhibition will travel to the El Paso Museum of Art.
