Love in Three Capitals
San Antonio Museum of Art
Through December 9, 2012

San Antonio Museum of Art (SAMA) patrons will be excited to learn that the exhibition Love in Three Capitals, curated by John Johnston, Coates-Cowden-Brown Curator of Asian Art, has been extended through December 9, 2012.

The erotic prints by artist Okumura Masanobu highlight a rare and complete set of twelve prints that belong to the shunga genre of erotic imagery. Made over 300 years ago, the paintings depict sexual encounters in the pleasure quarters of the three great cities of Japan—Edo, Kyoto and Osaka. This Friday’s Art Party will be celebrating these exquisite prints.

Due to the mature subject matter represented in these prints, this exhibition is limited to an adult audience.
