January 25 through February 23, 2013

The McKinney Avenue Contemporary (The MAC) is proud to present a continuing partnership with Ro2 Art, owned by Susan Roth Romans and Jordan Roth. As part of the MAC’s community outreach program, The MAC has teamed up with Ro2 Art to extend its contemporary artistic vision and educational support to downtown Dallas. This partnership will promote and support emerging contemporary talent. Donations from Ro2 Art will benefit artistic programming at The MAC.

The MAC and Ro2 Art are pleased to present Place Stamp Here by Carrie Crumbley. Originally from Atlanta, Georgia, Crumbley now works and resides in Denton, Texas. She obtained her Bachelors in International Studies with a minor in Photography from The University of North Texas in Denton. This year Crumbley exhibited at the Cora Stafford Gallery in Denton, and with the 500X Gallery in two exhibitions, Hot-N-Sweaty and 500XPO.

Crumbley’s work deals with a range of subjects including spirituality, religion, philosophy, and culture. Place Stamp Here is an exhibition of photographed postage stamps that function as historical documents. The images on the stamps reveal their journey through political revolutions, cultural celebrations, inner turmoil and prosperity. The opening reception will be on Friday, January 25 from 6 – 8pm. Carrie Crumbley: Place Stamp Here will be on view at Ro2 Downtown through February 23.
