Summer Adventures in Fair Park is paving the way for its parent company, The State Fair of Texas, to usher in its all-new Big Tex at this Fall’s annual exposition. The 52-foot tall icon was consumed by fire during the final weekend of the 2012 State Fair; all that remained was his three-ton cage-like skeleton, which consisted of 4,200 feet of steel rods, his hands and belt buckle.
To celebrate Big Tex’s return at the 2013 State Fair of Texas, Summer Adventures in Fair Park is showcasing the surviving belt buckle at its Construction Zone play center, this Friday through Monday, June 21-24. Visitors to the brand new Summer Adventures will want to bring cameras to capture this limited time opportunity, in addition to enjoying the more than 50 rides, shows and attractions at the spectacular pay-one-price entertainment venue.
Summer Adventures in Fair Park is now open daily through August 18. Operating hours vary and can be found at www.fairparkfun.com; the 2013 State Fair of Texas runs September 27 through October 20. For more information, please visit www.bigtex.com or call 214-421-8715.
