On Saturday, August 3 the Blanton Museum Shop will host a book signing event with Mando Rayo, co-author of the new must-have publication for foodies, Austin Breakfast Tacos: The Story of the Most Important Taco of the Day. All are invited to drop by the Museum Shop between 11:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. to purchase a signed copy of the book, meet Mando, and enjoy free Tacodeli breakfast tacos while supplies last.
About the Book
Mando Rayo and Jarod Neece of the Taco Journalism blog chronicle the history, culture, and traditions of the treat that’s become an Austin favorite– the breakfast taco. With over forty breakfast taco recipes, readers can find tacos for every occasion and persuasion. Rayo and Neece also highlight the people who make Austin the taco haven that it is, with stories contributed by local families, tastemakers, and restaurateurs such as Paul Qui, Addie Broyles, Tim and Karrie League, and Sara Hickman, among others.
Tacodeli is an Austin-bred, locally owned and operated business that aims to provide the best tacos in town by using locally and responsibly sourced organic ingredients whenever possible. Tacodeli first opened its doors in 1999 at its original location on Barton Skyway and Spyglass, and has since grown to operate three locations throughout the City.
