Painting with a Twist in Grapevine for Charity

Painting while drinking is fun, but it feels even better when you know your admission cost is going to straight to a non-profit charity. Painting with a Twist is the original “paint and sip” studio, and the Grapevine studio’s Painting with a Purpose classes are making a big difference for non-profit charity groups.

One hundred percent of the amount customers pay for their painting class goes straight to the designated charity, most of which are locally based non-profit groups. Past Painting with a Purpose classes have benefited schools, children, animals, health research, and hospital charities.

“These class donations have a big impact on small, local charities. For example, an animal rescue group told me they had to stop accepting new animals because their budget had run out, but their Painting with a Purpose donation got them back on track,” says Colleen Grant, owner of Painting with a Twist in Grapevine, Texas. Painting with a Purpose classes cost $45 per person and can seat up to 45 people. Plus, if the class sells out, Ms. Grant chips in an additional $500, resulting in a donation of over $2,500.

Ms. Grant reports, “A few charity representatives have told me our one class donation was more money than they had raised in an entire year, combined.”

Volunteer non-profit workers aren’t often professional fundraisers— they’re people with other careers who just want to help, and Ms. Grant is glad to help them.
Class participants are encouraged to bring food, wine, or beer to make their painting experience extra fun. All painting supplies are provided with artist instructions, so no experience is needed to paint your own work of art in just a few hours.

Help your community get the word out. Share this story and ask several friends to join you for a few hours of fun for a good cause. Plus, you’ll have your own completed works of art to take home when you’re done.

Painting with a Purpose classes in Grapevine are typically held once a month on the last Sunday of the month. Go to, click on the “Calendar” page, and look for the paintings with “BENEFITS [CHARITY NAME]” in the title. Classes can be reserved there or by calling 817–328–8788.
