The Fairmont Dallas Announces Open Call for Artists in Residence Program

The Fairmont Dallas is pleased to announce that it is accepting submissions for the Artist in Residence program. Established in 2010, the program features local, regional and national artists who reside at the hotel while working in an on-site studio for a three-month period. The Fairmont Dallas furnishes artists with luxurious accommodations, complimentary parking, studio space and access to the employee café. While in residence, the artist will create a body of work for a one-month solo exhibition on view at the hotel gallery. The Artist in Residence will participate in art-related experiences offered exclusively for guests and will have open studio hours.

Interested artists are asked to submit a short biography, high-resolution images of work, description of medium and inspiration, and a short statement (under 500 words) regarding why they are interested in being considered. Please indicate months of availability for the residency. Submissions will be reviewed by The Fairmont Dallas’ selection committee.

Applications may be submitted via email to or sent Attention: Nicole Considine to The Fairmont Dallas, 1717 N. Akard St. Dallas, TX 75201.

Please submit applications by August 31, 2013 for consideration for October – December 2013 residency. Please submit applications by November 10, 2013 for consideration for 2014 residencies.

The Fairmont Dallas’ Artist-in-Residence program is a collaborative initiative featuring local, regional and national artists who reside in the hotel while working in an onsite studio. Artwork created throughout the length of the artist’s stay serves various purposes – some is displayed in public areas of the hotel while others illuminate the hotel’s themed Arts District Suite.
