Sammons Jazz presents an exciting collaboration of strings and percussion on Wednesday, November 6, when the Drew Phelps Electric Guitar Project and Rhett Butler take the stage in Solo Virtuosos: Guitar, Bass & Blues at the Sammons Center for the Arts. Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP is the Corporate Night Sponsor.

The opening set by the Drew Phelps Electric Guitar Project will showcase Drew’s widely respected talent on the upright bass. Drew, who has recorded with the Dixie Chicks, Little Jack Melody, Dave Zoller and others, will be joined by special guests Paul Metzger and Don Bell on electric guitar and Steve Barnes on drums. Be prepared for an amazing collaboration!

The second set features Rhett Butler, whose trademark hammer-on style allows him to play two guitars at once. His mastery of multiple musical styles and passionate performances with artists such as Al DiMeola, Joe Satriani and Eric Johnson have placed him among the next generation of Texas guitar heroes.

Tickets to Sammons Jazz cost $40 or $35 for members. Admission includes a light meal, wine, beer, soft drinks, coffee, and valet parking. Order tickets by calling 214-520-7789; all major credit cards are accepted. Sammons Jazz concerts, held in Meadows Hall in the historic Sammons Center, begin at 7:30 p.m.; doors open at 7:00 p.m.
