St. Matthew’s Cathedral Arts, the East Dallas center for arts and culture for families, announces its events for February. The month will include an art exhibition opening, art activities for children, a Dallas Bach Society concert by singer Juliana Gondek and Choral Evensong in the cathedral – all for free. There will also be an adult education one-day retreat on art and meditation by 29Pieces for just $95. MasterPEACE: Young Artists Making a Kinder World
An exhibition of artworks from MasterPEACE workshops, which serve as a model for students in resolving conflicts with peers, family and community. Students create portraits of the world’s great peacemakers and discover how to create a personal place of peace at home. Real-life improvisations show them how to resolve conflict without violence.

St. Matthew’s Cathedral Arts announces the cancellation of the Sunday, February 2nd concert featuring Dallas Bach Society and Juliana Gondek. Another opportunity to hear the Dallas Bach Society is on March 9th at 4:00pm in the Cathedral The concert will be free and open to the public.

29 Pieces: Creative Connection through Art and Meditation
Open a portal to your creative connection in this one day workshop, led by Dr. Vicki Millican, and founded by Karen Blessen, Pulitzer Prize winning artist and Co-Founder of 29 Pieces. The day begins with an introduction to 29 Pieces, works of art inspired by the sacred words and poetry of many ancient traditions. An overview of passage meditation follows. Participants will meditate together and then create, inspired by words from the poetry and books of the world’s visionaries and mystics, then leave spiritually refreshed, with a piece of original art of their own making.
