Peter Ligon: It’s Gettin’ Dark, Too Dark To See

Peter Ligon presents recent works in the Safe Room at the Texas Theater. The exhibition opens with an artist reception on Friday, February 14, 2014 from 6 to 10 p.m.
Peter Ligon is a painter, drawer and master printer. He works out of the Shamrock Hotel Studios in Dallas, Texas. Ligon’s work is often done on site and is very immediate. His paintings are mostly landscapes with and without houses, barns and other buildings. Ligon’s prints are done on location as he travels around the country with the necessary copper plates for his dry point and etchings.
The Texas Theater is most famous for being the location where Lee Harvey Oswald was arrested by Dallas Police after the assassination of President John F. Kennedy and the murder of Dallas Patrolman J. D. Tippit on November 22, 1963. The Texas Theater in the Oak Cliff section of Dallas is located at 231 W. Jefferson Blvd, Dallas, Texas 75208.
