Perot Museum of Nature and Science Partners with National Geographic Society

Achieving a major milestone in its 18-month history, the Perot Museum of Nature and Science yesterday announced a five-year, multi-faceted partnership with scientific and educational giant National Geographic that makes it the only museum in Texas – and one of just a handful in America – boasting the exclusive alliance. The partnership will involve branding of the Museum’s 3D theater; regional movie premieres and special access to Nat Geo’s vast film library; a speaker series and visits from Nat Geo experts; and world-class exhibitions created by Nat Geo along with photography workshops, travel opportunities and special benefits and discounts for Museum members. Meadows Museum Presents Masterworks from the Hamburger Kunsthalle

This summer, the Meadows Museum will present the first large-scale exhibition of drawings from the Kupferstichkabinett at the Hamburger Kunsthalle, one of the most significant collections of Spanish drawings in the world. The Spanish Gesture: Drawings from Murillo to Goya in the Hamburger Kunsthalle will open in Dallas on May 25, 2014, and will feature 86 works created by leading Spanish artists from the 16th to the 19th centuries, including Bartolomé Esteban Murillo, Juan de Valdés Leal, Alonso Cano, and Francisco Goya.

Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth Joins Blue Star Museums Program

The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth announced their participation in the Blue Star Museums. The Modern is now partnered with the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families, the Department of Defense and more than 2,000 museum across the United States offering free admission to military personnel and their families. The Modern begins participation on Friday, May 23, 2014.

The MAC Announces Annual Membership Exhibition Theme

The McKinney Avenue Contemporary (The MAC) has announced the theme for their 2014 Annual Membership Exhibition. The theme is Something Old, Something New, Something Funky, Something Blue. The Annual Membership Exhibition opening will be Saturday, July 26, 2014 from 6 to 8 p.m. The exhibition will be on view through August 23, 2014.

LuminArte Gallery Announce Bruce Sulzberg Reception

On May 17, 2014 from 7 to 10 p.m., there will be an artist reception at LuminArte Gallery with Bruce Sulzburg, who will be unveiling his new 3- dimensional acrylic on acrylic original wine painting for the event. Bruce, as an avid wine collector, will be pouring 10 of his favorite wines from California and signing the original that night for the fine art collector that purchases the painting.

NorthPark Center Presents Iván Navarro’s This Land is Your Land

NorthPark Center is pleased to present a FREE public art exhibition of Brooklyn-based Chilean artist Iván Navarro’s work, This Land Is Your Land. The installation, which was recently on view at Madison Square Park in New York City, features three elevated wooden water towers serving as metaphors for the experience of immigration. The works will be on view for one year at NorthPark Center on Level One between Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom near Gucci, Todd’s, Salvatore Ferragamo and Versace.
