Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth Joins Blue Star Museums Program

The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth announced their participation in the Blue Star Museums. The Modern is now partnered with the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families, the Department of Defense and more than 2,000 museum across the United States offering free admission to military personnel and their families.

The Blue Star Museums program runs from Memorial Day, May 26, 2014, through Labor Day, September 1, 2014. The Modern will begin participation on Friday, May 23, and continue through Sunday, August 31, 2014. The museum is closed on Labor Day.

Free admission to any of the participating Blue Star Museums is available to active-duty military and their families (the military ID holder and five immediate family members). Active-duty military personnel from all branches (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, National Guard and Reserves) are welcome. The Modern has extended their participation to include retired military and veterans with identification.

In 2014, the Blue Star Museums program will include over 2,000 museums in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and American Samoa. For more information visit arts.gov/national/blue-star-museums

At The Modern

This summer The Modern will feature the following exhibitions:

  • Selections from the Permanent Collection
    Through September 20, 2014
  • FOCUS: Rirkrit Tiravanija
    Through June 1, 2014

Regular general admission at The Modern is $10 for adults, and $4 for seniors and students. Children under twelve are free. The museum is open Tuesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., except Friday when the museum is open until 8 p.m. The Modern, like most museums, is closed on Monday.
