Dallas ISD Students to Receive Honors for Achievements in the Arts

Dallas Independent School District (ISD) students will be honored by the Dallas ISD Northwest Council of PTAs, Northeast Council of PTAs and Trinity Council of PTAs. Students will be awarded for achievements in the 2014-15 Texas and National PTA Reflections arts in education program. The awards are for imagination, creativity and interpretation based on the annual theme, which was “The World Would Be A Better Place If …” Honors will be handed out on Thursday, January 29, 2015.

The Annual District Awards Ceremony will be held at the Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts located at 501 Flora St, Dallas, TX 75201. The ceremony will be hosted by Debbie Denmon, former WFAA news anchor. Guest speakers include DISD Superintendent Mike Miles, Texas PTA President Leslie Boggs, Texas PTA Darren Grissom, and Principal of Booker T. Washington High School Dr. Scott M. Rudes.

Some of the creative works by the students will advance to the 2014-15 Texas PTA “Reflections” State Contest. Winners of this content have a chance to represent Texas PTA at the national level. Students advancing to the state contest will be announced at the ceremony.
