The instructors at Oil and Cotton have launched the first exhibition of their work, Cats and Rainbows, and I attended the opening reception this past Saturday night. Art was shown by four lovely ladies; Emily Riggert, Gabbe Grodin, Rebecca Carter and Jessica Sinks. Cats and Rainbows runs through October 14, 2012.
The current show in the Cliff Gallery at Mountain View College is the work of Wura Natasha Ogunji. Ms. Ogunji is an American with Nigerian roots and her art in this exhibit is a testimonial to her father.

I learned one thing on the Oak Cliff Visual Speed Bump Tour this weekend and that’s to start early and pace yourself. Fifteen artists invited us into their studios to see how they create art and each host on the tour could not have been nicer. Everyone was willing to talk about the art and even give demonstrations of the creative process. So, out of fifteen locations I only made it to five.
