Family heirlooms, garage and estate sale finds, oddities and antiquities will find their way to The Grace Museum’s Antiques Round-Up July 31. A group of professional appraisers from across Texas and Oklahoma will staff the event, highlighted by the appearance of public TV personality and antiques appraiser John Buxton. Each appraiser has donated his or her time and travel costs to assist with the event, which is the first-ever appraisal event to be held at The Grace.

I try to attend every 3rd Friday of the month. And, I’ve attended two Crow Collection of Asian Art After Dark events. This sold out event had been on my calendar since December, when I pre-gifted attendance to my mother at Christmas. I started tweeting about it regularly in January, as I waited impatiently to be allowed to buy tickets. By the time tickets were available, my guest list had grown to include my aunt and uncle. For the last 6 months, this has been the most anticipated event on our calendars!
