The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, announced today that it will offer free admission as part of the Association of Art Museum Directors’ (AAMD) Art Museum Day, coinciding with International Museum Day on Friday, May 18, 2012.
Original artwork by Dallas-Fort Worth artists will be on display in the soon-to-open NYLO Dallas South Side. The hotel is currently under construction at 1325 South Lamar at Belleview and is set to open in July 2012.
The Dallas Museum of Art is pleased to announce the recipients of its 2012 Awards to Artists and travel grants. This year, ten artists received awards in one of three categories: the Clare Hart DeGolyer Memorial Fund, the Arch and Anne Giles Kimbrough Fund, and the Otis and Velma Davis Dozier Travel Grant.
Nelson A. Rockefeller Jr. has loaned the San Antonio Museum of Art a tapestry of Picasso’s Guernica from his family’s private collection. The tapestry is now hanging in the Nelson A. Rockefeller Center for Latin American Art at the museum. Rockefeller traveled to San Antonio this week for the formal unveiling.
The Meadows Museum at Southern Methodist University announced today that it will offer free admission on May 18, as well as a guided tour at 11:00 a.m., as part of the Association of Art Museum Directors’ (AAMD) Art Museum Day, coinciding with International Museum Day on Friday, May 18, 2012. In 2011, the Meadows Museum—along with more than 100 other AAMD member museums across North America—participated in International Museum Day.
