Amon Carter Museum of American Art Announces 2015 Exhibition Schedule

The Amon Carter Museum of American Art announced their 2015-16 exhibition schedule. Major exhibits include Indigenous Beauty: Masterworks of American Indian Art from the Diker Collection and Self-Taught Genius: Treasures from the American Folk Art Museum. Other special exhibitions include inventions by Samuel F. B. Morse, works by Remington and Russel, Texas folk art and works by artist Thomas Cole.

First Dallas Photo Walk this Saturday, September 6th

The first Dallas Photo Walk, in conjunction with 500px Global Photo Walk, will be this Saturday, September 6, 2014 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Over two dozen photographers have signed-up via Facebook to attend the journey around Dallas Fair Park and West End. Photographers Mark D. and Mr. Holga will be walking and taking pictures with both local and out-of-town photographers. All photographers (pro, amateur, novice) and cameras (film, digital, instant) are welcome.

PDNB Gallery Exhibits the Most Important Photograph Ever Made

PDNB Gallery’s latest exhibition, The Most Important Photograph Ever Made, includes the earliest surviving photograph since Nicéphore Niépce first created photography. This is a rare opportunity to see a print of this historic magnitude outside the permanent collection of the University of Texas, Austin. The exhibition opens with a reception on Saturday, August 9, 2014 from 5 to 8 p.m.

Dallas Auction Gallery Posts New Record with Spring Fine Art Sale

Dallas Auction Gallery anticipated and was rewarded with excellent prices at their Spring Fine Art sale on April 30 in Dallas, Texas. 119 lots of high quality paintings, lithographs,graphic works, photography and sculpture – representing modern, contemporary, post-impressionist, and southwest artists – resulted in over $2.8 million in sales and a 76% sell through rate. Contemporary and Modern works from the estate of Mary Jo Vaughn Rauscher and a collection assembled by the late Mr. & Mrs. I.C. Deal, Dallas, Texas were stand-outs.

El Paso Museum of Art Announces Vanishing Ice

The El Paso Museum of Art’s major summer ticketed exhibition is Vanishing Ice: Alpine and Polar Landscapes in Art, 1775–2012, curated by Barbara Matilsky of the Whatcom Museum in Bellingham, Washington, where the exhibition premiered. Following its presentation in El Paso, Vanishing Ice will tour internationally to appear at the McMichael Canadian Art Collection in Kleinburg, Ontario.

Dallas Museum of Art Announces Largest Outdoor Art Show Ever

The Dallas Museum of Art along with the Art Institute of Chicago, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the National Gallery of Art and the Whitney Museum of American Art will exhibit Art Everywhere starting August 4, 2014 and lasting four weeks. The exhibit will display iconic art works from museums’ collections on outdoor advertising displays across the United States. Artistic Impression of Management at UT Dallas

The Naveen Jindal School of Management at the University of Texas at Dallas announces Artistic Impressions of Management. The exhibit will feature works by Dallas artists Brad Oldham, Jon Flaming and other artists celebrating the relationship between art and management. The exhibit is Saturday, April 26, 2014 from 7 to 10 p.m. Tickets are $75.

Mayor Mike Rawlings to Kick-off Dallas Arts Week

Mayor Mike Rawlings and the City of Dallas Cultural Affairs Commission will kick-off the 2nd annual Dallas Arts Week at the Dallas City Hall on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at noon. Dallas Arts Week is April 5 through April 13, 2014. The week will feature more than 100 arts and cultural events in venues all over Dallas.
