2014 FWCAC Biennial Call for Entries

The Fort Worth Community Arts Center (FWCAC) is celebrating their community’s diversity through the arts. They are looking to showcase the talents of regional artists and art groups. The first FWCAC Biennial was exhibited under the title The 39-Hour Show in 2004. It has since become a tradition of exhibiting the diverse art and artists of north Texas.

Amon Carter Museum of American Art 2014 Exhibition Schedule

The Amon Carter Museum of American Art announces their 2014 exhibition schedule. Special exhibitions include Art and Appetite: American Art, Culture, and Cuisine which will feature works by Norman Rockwell, Andy Warhol and Edward Hoppers iconic Nighthawks (1942). Also on view will be lithographs by James McNeill Whistler, photographs by Kathy Sherman Suder, and works on paper from the collection of Joan and John Richardson.

Talley Dunn Gallery Announces Within & Beyond Group Exhibition

Talley Dunn Gallery is pleased to present Within & Beyond, a group exhibition of works on paper and sculpture by artists Jonathan Borofsky, Sophie Calle, Ann Hamilton, Vija Celmins, Richard Diebenkorn, Frank Gehry, Philip Guston, Bruce Nauman, Robert Rauschenberg, Ed Ruscha, Richard Serra, and Frank Stella. The exhibition will open with a reception for the public Saturday, September 14, 2013, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Amon Carter Museum of American Art presents ¡Hombre! Prints by José Guadalupe Posada

On October 19 the Amon Carter Museum of American Art presents ¡Hombre! Prints by José Guadalupe Posada to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the death of José Guadalupe Posada (1852–1913), one of the key figures in the development of modern Mexican printmaking. Born of humble origins in the city of Aguascalientes, Posada died a well-known but impoverished man in Mexico City. He was a versatile and inventive draftsman; over the course of his career, he drew an estimated 15,000 different ephemeral prints that documented just about every facet of Mexican life.

Amon Carter Museum of American Art Announces Fall 2013 Exhibitions

The Amon Carter Museum of American Art announces its upcoming fall exhibition schedule. The special exhibition Color! American Photography Transformed is the first-ever survey of fine art color photography’s journey to becoming a fully accepted art form. Other exhibitions on view include photographs of New York City neighborhood life by John Albok, the collection of works that hung in President and Mrs. John F. Kennedy’s Hotel Texas suite during their visit to Fort Worth in 1963 and prints by José Guadalupe Posada. Admission is free to all exhibitions.
