List of Blue Star Museum Program Participants

The National Endowment for the Arts in collaboration with Blue Star Families’ Operation Appreciation will honor millions of American service members with free admission to museum across the country. Starting Friday, May 27, 2011, over 125 museums in Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas will open their doors to active military personnel and their families. Dallas Filmmaker Todd Kent Documents Cadillac Ranch Sponsor Stanley Marsh 3

Writer, producer and documentary filmmaker Todd Kent recently turned me on to his short YouTube.com video of Cadillac Ranch (1974) sponsor Stanley Marsh 3. Cadillac Ranch is a public art installation in Amarillo, Texas, consisting on ten Cadillac automobiles buried nose down with only the back half showing above ground. Mr. Kent’s seven minute video nicely documents Mr. Marsh’s ideology as an artist.

Rock On! The Art of the Music Posters from the 60s and 70s, the summer exhibition at the Amarillo Museum of Art, will set the theme for the opening night fundraising gala on Friday, June 18, 2010.
