The Louisiana Art & Science Museum in Baton Rouge, LA, announced their schedule of events for October 2011. The events include Art Talk, The 26th Annual LASM Gala, music, entertainment, a new exhibit from the Frederick R. Weisman Art Foundation, and a film at the Planetarium.
The Irene W. Pennington Planetarium at the Louisiana Art & Science Museum (LASM) will undergo a $970,000 renovation this fall that will enable Baton Rouge’s star attraction to offer new 3-D programming, to continue to be a leader in planetarium technology, and to better meet the interests of museum visitors.
The National Endowment for the Arts in collaboration with Blue Star Families’ Operation Appreciation will honor millions of American service members with free admission to museum across the country. Starting Friday, May 27, 2011, over 125 museums in Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas will open their doors to active military personnel and their families. The Blue Star Museums program ends Sunday, September 4, 2011.
Costumes worn by movie stars such as Johnny Depp, Nicole Kidman, and others will soon dazzle visitors at Louisiana Art & Science Museum (LASM), where CUT! Costume and the Cinema opens on May 6, 2011.
